In March 2010, there will be a series of events in Mexico City, Mexico, Los Angeles, California, and other cities, meant to be a ritual of mourning for the femicides in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua: Art as a pathway of opposition and resistance to violence.
We invite you to be part of this initiative of art activism. Below is the link to the blog we have dedicated to this and where you will find the Call for Entries. This invitation is open to all individuals, groups, organizations, artists and activists. The events in March 2010 will include awareness raising creative workshops, intervention actions, plays and performances and the exhibition of the art work received through the call for entries and the resulting art from the workshops. http://unaoracionporjuarez.blogspot.com/
For those who do not live in Mexico City or Los Angeles metropolitan areas, we invite you to organize your own community activity during the same month of March, 2010. It could be an Art Exhibit, a book discussion, a movie screening, a poetry reading, etc. We ask you to include the original title of this event “A Prayer for Juarez,” and to send us your schedule, and later on, photos and documentation, to be included in the blog.
To include your event, or for any kind of issue related, please write to us:

Re: your clay question, yes, polymer clay is very pliable and is baked in a home oven at a range of 250 - 275 degrees. Very user friendly and most of all... ADDICTING! LOL!
As soon as the crunch-time for these banners end. We have to have them all finished within 2 weeks. There were 8 total, and I am doing 5 of them. Jihmy and Ziggy are doing the other 3. The dedication ceremony for the building is May 21st, 4pm to 8pm. It's going to be great. All of you are invited!

Hi Berenice. I did a little research and saw you are based in San Diego. Thanks for adding me as a friend on ABLA. I'm way up in San Francisco and so happy to finally feel connected to other Chicana / Latina artists in California and beyond.

Dearest Fusia-Colored-Cactus-Flower,
Hope to use this to be in touch more often. Don't know how to add you as a friend yet. If you do, do it...otherwise it will take me a bit to figure it out.
Un abrazote,
