Day 9: Why journaling
Why journaling? Many have asked me, why do you journal? Why write all that stuff down? Why take the time to write stuff no one will ever read?
Writing our thoughts, ideas, emotions, what resonates with us is a very powerful way of living in the moment, being whole, feeling vibrant, and understanding our purpose. Journaling gives us a quiet place to get in touch the inner essence of who we are and it allows us to work through some stuff…write it…

Day 8: Rituals, do they really work?
With journaling, there are as many ways that it works as there are people who find they journal successfully. Some journalers have to start at the same time every day and they follow a routine…I get a cup of tea, go to my chair, turn on the iPod and write away… These individuals cannot even imagine being unprepared for a journaling sessin and they find that the ritual helps them get grounded, stay centered, is almost meditative.
Others,…

Today was such a hectic day. It's hard to be an artist, and at the same time market my work. Phew....my major challenge was to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop more proficiently!
Thanks to another artist, I realized that I was using too high of a resolution. Believe it or not there is one single solitary artist out here who messes up with such matters. This is probably why creating this site and other sites that I have been working on are a blessing to me because they have forced me…

Day 7: What do I write?
Look for material everywhere…comics, quotes, poems, pictures, articles, headlines. What ever resonates with you, works. I find that for non-writers to get started, the more visuals the better, and sometimes, just copying down favorite quotes, favorite ideas, or even headlines are fun ways to get started. Once you have hit your stride, you are ready for the transformation.
For example, if you want to lose weight, write about your ideal weight, what…

Day 6: The Secret to Success: Try Different Styles
I have known many who ask me, how do you do it, how do you stay motivated and inspired to journal everyday? How do you make it happen and keep it real? And, my answer is simple, I mix it up. Sometimes, I am writing letters to a friend, other times I am scrapping, other times I am doing letters to loved ones, a good friend. Sometimes, I have a journal with lines and others, I have a journal with no lines. At times, I write with a pen,…

FLOWERSCAPE
This painting is a drastic change from what I do. I enjoyed doing it. Sometimes as an artist it's wonderful to let loose, and not be soooooo intense. When I paint a philosophical/spiritual work of art it's extremely draining. This is why I cherish these fun and whimsical works when I'm fortunate to do…

Day 5: Getting Started
Now before you can get started on your journal, there are a few decisions you have to make. First, you have to decide where you are going to keep a journal. It can be right here on your computer or it can be a fancy story bought journal, or a composition book, or a three ring binder. We will be exploring types of journals in future blogs, so for now, I suggest you choose something to go with and change when you have had some experience or are looking to spice…

DAY 4: Types of Journals
There are different journals for different purposes and many people will say this is not working for me because they did not think through the process first of what they wanted to achieve and accomplish, their life circumstances, and what would work for them. Here are a number of different journals I have tried that I love. If you have something else that you have tried, please share it with the group.
1. Electronic: You will have a place on your…

Today is a great day to be alive. If you turn on the news, radio, etc. etc. all you hear is negative news. I'm sure we all wonder what in the world are we going to do about gas; our homes are devaluating; food is soooooo expensive, and should I simply say that it is so costly to just be alive!
Well, I thought that I would force myself to be positive today. Oh, and I forgot to mention the most important thing of all!!!! There are major rumors that the end of the world is coming, and…

Day 3: The Many Faces of Journaling
Journaling takes on many forms and many shapes and it has been my experience that what type of journal I am involved with has to do with what is going on in my life. When I am lost without a rudder, I tend to go with a gratitude, goals, or dream journal. When I am feeling a need to heal, I go with a grief journal or a healing journal. If I find I am quick to anger, than I go with a rant and rave journal or a letter writing journal. It all depends…

Day 2: Journaling for Life, Success, Peace of Mind
Journaling has been likened to the wonder drug, it can help you deal with grief and loss, succeed in business, make your dreams come true, give you peace of mind, help you have an attitude of gratitude, and even help you lose weight, win that trophy, and celebrate your successes.
And, it is all true. Journaling really is the elixir of life, the wonder drug, the magical cure, and the way to make life transforming changes in your…

Under the Same Moon…La misma Luna
For a great holiday treat, get or rent a copy of Under the Same Moon or la misma luna…
A beautifully done film that allows us to explore the immigration issues and concerns in all of its complexities, in all of its drama and what it means for those who are caught in the battle with no where to turn.
We see the desperation of the poor, the lives of the haves, the depths we are drawn to just to provide for the families we love and…
