I am a lover of the arts, both as an artist myself and as a collector. The passion of learning and inspiration is what birthed this community of amazing Latina artists. It started with just one artist on my personal website (Sandiafria.com) back in 2004 and has organically grown to what it is today. A community of almost 500 women. Can you imagine if we were all in one room! What a party that would be of creativity, color and life.

I've been out a little out of touch with my blog and art life these past few weeks, mostly enjoying time with my husband while he is home on two weeks leave. We are half way through his deployment. DIY Tutorial Dia de los Muertos mask

I love this time of year. Getting ready for Dia de los Muertos comes early for me. Here is a sample of some of the crafts I am working on.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS MASK

What you'll need:

Wood skeleton face masks... I found these at my local Michael's. They come with a skeleton face already painted on them. I painted over mine with gesso to create a more custom look. I used acrylic paints and glitters. Including Elmers' glitter glue. Liquitex Basics, Crafty Chica paints, Crafty…

Maria! (I follow your tweets;)  I LOVE Puerto Allegre!! Lol!  I was just there last week...yes! They had a wonderful display of artwork and of Frida...I was discussing one painting of Frida with my husband...beautiful work, (and food;)
