Marcela El-Ayoubi, born in Quito, Ecuador, South America and presently resides in Artesia, California.
After working as an Elementary School Teacher in California for nineteen years, I decided to become a working artist. In May 2013, I graduated from the School of Museum and Fine Arts (SMFA) Boston with an emphasis in painting, drawing and print. For the next, two years, I had the privilege to work for the Museum of Fine Arts as a Creative Arts Instructor and a Gallery Guard.
As an artist, I am influenced by life experience. My art shows a lot of experimentation with various materials: such as mixing different mediums together to create collages, combining abstract with motif and organic forms and using a variety of painting techniques. I practice various styles of art. Presently, I am working on expanding Contemporary Repeated Motif paintings/collages that borrow from my Latin heritage.
