- About Me:
- I am a mexican folk artist and maker of other creative visions. I live in Santa Cruz, California with my husband and a spoiled cockatiel named Hilo (I love Hawaii).
I consider myself a self taught individual with technical help from my community college in the areas of techique, application, perspective, and mystery of color.
My life included 14yrs as a bus driver and 16 years in various lawenforcement positions in Santa Cruz County. I retired from the county in 1999 and started working part-time at UCSC for the Transportation and Parking services.
Once I retired, I devoted time and energy to my painting. In 2007, my work was accepted to the Santa Cruz Open Studios Tour. Since then, I've never looked back only forward on this long awaited artistic journey.

Hi Laura,
I am so excited you are local and excited that you are dedicated to your art form. We should definitely collaborate in the near future. I am working with Hijos Del Sol from Salinas, and will be there this evening to paint. I am talking to the 2nd Street Coffee House owner to see if I can get a show there.
