Lorena, I just read the article in metal clay today. This is written in such a positive and inspired way... yes, your hard work is being recognized! I have to tell you, the first time I saw your work and invited you to join this network I felt the same way about your work without even knowing all the history and personal connection behind it. Your pieces reflect your wonderful spirit. Keep it going Creative Lady... happy for you!

I just had the most incredible experience in my first art retreat in Houston , Texas. I was a whole week taking classes and meeting incredible talented artist from around the nation. The event is Adorn Me! Houston and it will be next year too!
I have been working very hard and the hard work is paying off. I am proud to represent the Latin Community and to express my heritage through by work.
I am invited to be the feature artist in a free online magazine Metal Clay Today for the spring edition.

Hi all, I had been making ceramic jewelry, but now I want to make other things. I'm thinking of making hanging lamps using clay. I had these ideas for a while and now I feel it is the time to make them.

Well, we just had the heat system installed in our new "studio" (finished basement)! Next week we will be putting in a floor, insulation and a few more walls. So excited to finally have a space to set up my wheel and kiln. :)

I finally started painting again. I was able to do some aceos (artist cards) and a few small paintings in January. Here is one of them.

Hola Theresa !
To make my calaveras it may take me between one to two days per piece and then 9 to 7 hours of firing the piece in the kiln.

Ha! Lorena, I like the idea of a clone... how are the Calaveras coming? Curious, how long does it usually take you to complete one?
Comment by Lorena Angulo on January 19, 2010 at 7:14pm
I wish I can have a clone so I can do more! My year started very good, lots of new plans and places to sell my work. I have been busy making two "Calaveras" for an exhibition in Perdue University this summer. Wish me luck, I hope my work can be selected. My jewelry is going to be for sale in Santa Fe and this is something that makes me very happy.
