Supporting Women and the Arts

For me, this is an easy question, because inspiration comes to me from many places. I feel it in nature, music, art and quiet places...I see visions of paintings already finished or in process...I build castles in the air, or caves for that matter, because in me there is a secret garden that leads to a cave when I enter, I know this is time for discovery, and so it is.

Please if you are here for a visit, share with me your muse, or that which inspires you to create.

I'm a wordsmith and emotions, wants, needs, desire to see things change, all inspire me to create. I've started a blog that offers words of inspiration daily and encouraging postive change through focused breathing and affirmations with enhanced visualization. I can't help make the world a better place without making MY world a better place, and this is where I start daily. I'd love for you to take a look and tell me what you think, Ascending Butterfly - http://ascendingbutterfly.blogspot.com

What inspires me to create my work is my culture, my country, the richness of traditions and colors I had when I was a child in Mexico; all the wonderful memories of my childhood in Chiapas.
I was blessed to live in a lot of different states in Mexico due to my father's work and this gave me the wonderful experience to see and learn a lot of different traditions. I always admired the art from my country but it was until I came to live to the USA that I really , really appreciated my culture and this gave me the inspiration to start making traditional fabricated silver work and later metal clay work.
At the beginning I felt out of place because all my work was very rich of my culture and traditions but there is no other way I want to make my jewelry. This is me and what inspires me to create and I will never change it.
I am inspired to create by my life. As a writer, I love to write about who I am, what I love, and what makes my life tick. I have a very creative spirit...and a positive spirit at that. I am inspired by love, romance, and positive people. And, I have to write about what I am feeling, what I am experiencing, what I am dreaming about...I write and create because I have to...it makes my life complete, full...and wel worth living.

I create because without creating, there would be no life without creation!!!

I think for me it's music that inspires me. I hear music and I feel the creative juices flowing. Colors of course do it for me also. Creativity is a must for me because if I'm not working with fabric, paints, beads or whatever I just don't feel well. It's a part of who I am and so I'll probably be doing something creative for the rest of my life. Hopefully. Another thing that motivates me is seeing other artist's work, like this place.
I must feel safe and secure enough to express my art in a way that will not be suppressed by my environment; that is when I feel safe, secure; when I feel as though I can produce anything. Memories, peace of mind and strong emotions also help. My artistic expressions; my speakings are expressions of freedom that are important to me and when I feel them too threatening and threatened, I do not share them. I do not put those ideas down, there's too much of a need for positive energy.
Creation for me is sometimes like a lightening strike- a building up of mundane and profound moments that combine to make a beautiful recipe-but the trick is to culminate that vision in 2 or 3 dimensions, My best ideas come to me as full blown visions-and with great passion I am driven to create them as soon as possible in our world to share with those who can comprehend, I want to make the world a better place. I hope my work leaves that legacy.
wow...I love this...especially the part of leaving a legacy...I am sure you will leave a leagacy...your work is sooo beautifully inspiring...

Personally, dreams. Other people's dreams. Visions and spirits that people may see.

Scary and haunting movies, books, images. These things help me create new and exciting dolls.
