Supporting Women and the Arts

Working hard on a piece for Muertos. Will honor women of Juarez, fallecidos of the border crossing, and lives lost in cartelero wars. A good cause, but hard to do with a newborn. Anyone else working on Muertos pieces?

Working on some pieces for the Mutertos celebration at Calvary cemetery in San Jose and looking into showing in Salinas. I got some older work I could use, but want to show new works too :)
Just finished a whimsical piece for DOD. Maybe for Watsonville or San Juan Bautista...LOS
which gallery in San Juan Bautista? I would love to show over there some time, especially during DoD (i love the parade the Teatro campesino produces). Currently have some work over at El Aguila #34 Central Ave in Salinas but the organizer might move some of it over to the Steinbeck Center.

Sonia, DOD at San Juan Bautista celebration will be Nov 4, 5, 6th. Parade on the 5th. Galeria Tonantzin is where I usually submit. They are accepting for "images of the virgen" exhibit right now. You can send jpg"s to galeriatonantzinsjb@gmail.com. Deadline is Oct 28th. Go online at http://galeriatonantzin.com for all the particulars. There is a $10 juror fee and $35.00 hanging fee (includes up to three pieces of art).

Buena Suerte....LOS

I made this Calavera Cuff for the upcoming Day of the Dead shows I have.

Very nice! How do you sell your pieces?? Are you on Etsy?

"Thanks! I like it too, it doesn't seem so horizontal with the distortions breaking it up. I'm having a lot of fun with this, and I have my old printer to thank ;)"

"Actually, I like the distortion. I creates an interesting linear composition to subject matter. A depth that would take alot of planning to paint. Good job..I like it!  "
