For the past two years, San Diego has celebrated International Womens Day with a night that has surpassed all expectations. This year, will be no exception. Comrades y Comadres: A Celebration of La Mujer promises to be a celebration of epic womanly proportions. Only in it’s second year, last year’s Dia de la Mujer gathered a crowd of over 500 and included over 30 female artists, an amazing literary presentation by the women of the RedCalacarts Collective and a music lineup that was nothing short of explosive. Now, three years old, the celebration taking place Friday March 5th 2010 at Casa Familiar’s THE FRONT, will be spectacular. The night will feature over 30 visual artists, spokenword and a selection of musicians that could only come together for such an occasion. Because the border can’t stop us and neither can the OC…artists from Tijuana and all the way from East L.A. will come together on this very special night and honor all the beauty and energy that is COMRADES y COMADRES.
